Where AI Strategy Begins
By Aleksandra Osipova, Founder Apricity Lab
Dear founder,
If you’ve ever opened news about a new trending AI tool, stared at the blinking cursor, and quietly thought to yourself, “Where do I even begin?”, I want you to know, you are not alone and you are not behind. You’re in exactly the right place to begin.
Many of the women I work with are just like you: brilliant, ambitious, and navigating early-stage complexity. Maybe you’ve built something with traction, maybe you're still forming your offering, but either way, you’re wearing ten hats, and now there’s a new one: AI.
And here’s the tricky part. It’s not just about the tools.
You don’t build an AI strategy by downloading the next trending app.
You build it by aligning your direction, your values, and your capacity. Because if you’re a founder without an army of engineers or an extra three hours in your day, you can’t afford to run experiments in the dark. That’s why the real starting point isn’t technical, it’s strategic.
Start by asking: What do I actually want AI to do for me? Where do I need relief, insight, or momentum? Then, instead of rushing toward automation, think smaller. Think testable. Think real-life workflows and real-life constraints. One of the biggest mindset shifts I teach is this: an AI experiment doesn’t have to be revolutionary. It just has to be revealing.
You don’t need to prove your genius by perfecting it on the first try. That pressure to get it right from the start, that’s what slows most people down. In fact, I’ve seen business owners put more effort into figuring out how to start than into the experiment itself.
But this is your advantage: as a founder, you already know how to move through uncertainty. You already know how to build in real time. You’re not looking for a blueprint. You’re looking for a compass.
I’ve been leading 1:1 strategy advisory sessions and AI masterminds for some time now, and one thing becomes clear again and again: what’s most helpful isn’t just the right tool or trend. It’s finding alignment between your goals, your product vision, and the AI support that can move you forward.
That’s where I always recommend beginning. Start small. Start real. And grow with purpose.
I write about AI implementation, mindset, and the real journey of entrepreneurship on LinkedIn. If you're navigating these questions in your own business, feel free to reach out or connect. I'd love to hear your story!
Warmly,
Aleksandra
